The short answer: our pick for Black Friday 2026 is pCloud Lifetime, $499 once for 2 TB or $219 for 500 GB (checked October 27, 2026): the one software purchase that ends a monthly bill for good. Black Friday is November 27, 2026; write down the prices below, because they’re the prices to beat.

In plain English: what is pCloud Lifetime for?

The problem: your phone keeps saying storage is full, so you pay Google or Apple every month to keep photos you’ll never delete, and that bill never stops.

The solution: pCloud sells online storage you pay for once. You upload your photo library to it from your phone or computer, and you keep that space with no subscription to renew.

The prices to beat on November 27

Black Friday 2026 falls on Friday, November 27, and Cyber Monday on November 30. For software, the right question isn’t “is there a sale?” but “is the sale price below today’s price?” Here are the deals our guides already recommend, with the US price we read on the date shown. More budget picks live in our Tools on a Budget section.

If you only watch one thing

pCloud Lifetime 2 TB: $499 once on October 27, 2026 on pcloud.com, about the cost of 5 years of Google One 2 TB at $99.99 a year, then nothing to pay after that. Any Black Friday price under $499 brings that payback date even closer.

What the “discounts” already show

Read the sellers’ pages a month early and one thing jumps out that the promo banners won’t tell you: several of these products already display big “discounts” against a crossed-out price, today, well before Black Friday.

Product (US, October 27, 2026)Crossed-out pricePrice charged“Discount” already shown
pCloud Lifetime 500 GB$279$219−21.5%
pCloud Lifetime 2 TB$709$499−29.6%
pCloud Lifetime 10 TB$2,799$1,499−46.4%
Recoverit, 1 month$105.99$64.99−38.7%
Recoverit, perpetual$169.99$134.99−20.6%

So a “−40%” badge on November 27 means nothing if it starts from a crossed-out price: what counts is the price you can pay today.

How to spot a real deal

The rule is public. The FTC’s Guides Against Deceptive Pricing say a “former price” is a legitimate basis for a discount only if it’s the actual price at which the product was offered to the public “on a regular basis for a reasonably substantial period of time.” A crossed-out price that nobody ever really charged makes the “bargain” a false one.

  1. Write down today’s price: the table above is your starting point.
  2. Compare with the lowest price you’ve already seen, not with the crossed-out price.
  3. Check on the day: the price, the license length (lifetime or yearly) and what’s included.

Storage, VPN, video, Office: where to watch for a drop

Cloud storage: pCloud Lifetime

Our October 27 math shows pCloud Lifetime 2 TB ($499) roughly tied with 5 years of Google One 2 TB ($99.99 a year, or $499.95), and the 500 GB plan ($219) paying for itself in about 2 years and 3 months for anyone who has outgrown Apple’s 200 GB or Google’s smaller tiers. Every dollar under those prices on Black Friday brings the payback date closer. The full math is in pCloud Lifetime vs Google One vs iCloud.

VPN: Proton VPN Plus

On October 27, 2026, Proton VPN Plus costs $83.76 for the first two years, or $3.49 a month, then renews at $83.88 a year. That’s already the cheapest way to get it; a Black Friday deal is only real if it beats $3.49 a month or adds months for the same price. Not sure you need one? Take our “do I need a VPN?” test first.

Video editing: Filmora

On October 27, 2026, Filmora costs $79.99 for a perpetual license (with updates within Filmora 16) and $49.99 a year for the Basic annual plan. Over three years, the annual plan comes to $149.97 versus $79.99 once: if you’ll edit videos for more than a year and a half, the perpetual license is the one to watch. If you mostly need to shrink or convert phone clips, our guide to converting iPhone videos for free or with UniConverter may save you the purchase.

File recovery: Recoverit

Recoverit for Windows costs $64.99 for a month, $74.99 for a year and $134.99 perpetual on October 27, 2026. Nobody plans a file disaster around Black Friday, so if you’ve just lost files, act now with the free version and the free fixes in our guide on how to recover deleted files; if you want a recovery tool on hand, the perpetual license is the one to watch.

Office: a one-time license or Microsoft 365

On the Microsoft Store, Office Home 2024 costs $179.99 once for one PC or Mac, versus $99.99 a year for Microsoft 365 Personal. Office 2024 gets security updates until October 9, 2029, per Microsoft’s lifecycle page. Over three years, the subscription costs $299.97: if you only need Word, Excel and PowerPoint on one computer, the one-time license is the better buy, and any Black Friday price under $179.99 from an authorized seller is a genuine saving.

The fine print that keeps coming back

  • One price per deal. We read public US list prices; a coupon code or referral offer can do better, and sales tax is added at checkout depending on your state.
  • Auto-renewal. Proton’s 2-year plan renews at $83.88 a year, Recoverit’s monthly and yearly licenses renew automatically: put the date in your calendar.
  • “Lifetime” doesn’t mean forever. Office 2024 is supported until October 9, 2029, Filmora’s perpetual license gets updates within its version, and pCloud’s lifetime plan runs for the account owner’s life or 99 years, whichever is shorter.
  • Buy from the official store. Cheap “lifetime keys” from unknown resellers are a classic Black Friday trap; stick to the publisher or an authorized seller.

How Tooli picks

Method: we did not test this software in-house. This guide combines the publishers’ official US pricing pages, the FTC’s public rule on price comparisons and our earlier guides, all checked on October 27, 2026. Tooli compares every deal with today’s price, not with the crossed-out price.

FAQ

When is Black Friday 2026?

Friday, November 27, 2026, followed by Cyber Monday on Monday, November 30. For software, a real deal is judged against today’s price, which you can write down right now.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy pCloud Lifetime?

Only if you don’t need the space yet. pCloud Lifetime cost $219 for 500 GB and $499 for 2 TB on October 27, 2026. If a Black Friday offer goes below those prices, it’s real; otherwise, waiting gets you nothing while you keep paying a monthly storage plan.

What does a crossed-out price on software mean?

Under the FTC’s Guides Against Deceptive Pricing, a former price should be one the product was actually offered at for a reasonably substantial period. Always compare with the last price you wrote down, not with the crossed-out price.

Is a perpetual license better than a subscription on Black Friday?

If you’ll use the software for more than a couple of years, usually yes. On October 27, 2026, Filmora cost $79.99 perpetual versus $49.99 a year, and Office Home 2024 cost $179.99 once versus $99.99 a year for Microsoft 365 Personal.

Our verdict

Our pick: pCloud Lifetime, $499 once for 2 TB or $219 for 500 GB (checked October 27, 2026), because it’s the one purchase on this list that permanently removes a monthly bill. If a Black Friday deal beats those prices, grab it; if not, today’s price already pays for itself against Google One or iCloud+. For VPN, video and Office, write down the prices in the table and buy on November 27 only if the deal goes below them. All our picks are on our recommended tools page, and more money-saving guides are in Tools on a Budget.
